Branson Tourism Center lights up with Debby Boone

Employees and visitors at Branson Tourism Center get a surprise visit from Debby Boone, famous for her song "You Light Up My Life". Boone is scheduled to perform with Country Tonite at the Oak Ridge Boys Theatre in Branson, Missouri November 3 through December 5, 2009.

(Vocus/PRWEB ) June 12, 2009 -- Visitors and employees in the Branson Tourism Center (BTC) lobby reception area recently got a pleasant surprise. Debby Boone, who made the song “You Light Up My Life” one of the biggest hits of all time, stopped by to visit, sign autographs, and pose for pictures with them. Boone was in Branson promoting the new show she will be doing at the Oak Ridge Boys Theatre during Branson’s Ozark Mountain Christmas.

While at the Branson Tourism Center, Boone also met with its owners Lianne and Larry Milton and its General Manager Paul Miller. She seemed impressed by the size and scope of the Branson Tourism Center’s operation which has about 100 employees and sells more Branson show tickets than anyone else.

Boone discussed the show she will be doing at the Oak Ridge Boys Theatre Nov. 3 through Dec. 5. She said it will be a combination of her “Reflections of Rosemary” road show, a tribute to her mother-in-law Rosemary Clooney, and a traditional family celebration of Christmas with all its music and fun.

Boone feels her Branson show with its combination of great music, sharing of personal family experiences and a few other surprises, is a perfect fit for Branson’s audiences. She said, “The audiences that come to Branson appreciate really good music,” emphasized the quality of the music in the show and described it as beautiful, melodic, gorgeous music with great arrangements being played by great musicians.

In talking about her smash hit “You Light Up My life” Boone said she loves performing it because of its message. She said, “On any given day that song takes on different levels of meaning to me and the people in my audience.”

When asked to comment on the Branson tradition of entertainers meeting and greeting their audiences after the show to shake hands, take pictures, and sign autographs, etc., she said, “If you don’t connect with your audience then the relationship doesn’t have anywhere to go.” As Debby was doing just that during her visit at the Branson Tourism Center, one observer reported that as she interacted with people, “It became obvious that the woman who can sing ‘You Light Up My Life’ with such passion has the same passion for people and was, even if only for a few moments with each, lighting up the lives of those she was meeting.”

Boone will be appearing at the Oak Ridge Boys Theatre Nov. 3 through Dec. 5 as the special guest with the “Country Tonite Show.” The first half of the show will be the “Country Tonite Show” and the second half Debby Boone’s show.
