Crawdaddy! Announces Benefit Concert for Founder Paul Williams

Mojo Nixon, Jello Biafra, Mark Eitzel, John Easdale and Ben Fong Torres among the performers and writers scheduled to pay tribute to Paul Williams, the Father of Rock Journalism.

Crawdaddy! The Magazine of Rock announces a benefit concert in support of Paul Williams, the magazine's founder, one of the most influential music writers and a champion of rock music of the past 40 years.    Mojo Nixon, Jello Biafra, Mark Eitzel, John Easdale and others will perform in Williams' honor on Sunday, June 28, 2009 at the Red Devil Lounge in San Francisco in a music and spoken word show hosted by Ben Fong Torres.

The story of Paul Williams, and his place in rock history are described on a website created by his friends and family following a bicycle accident that has left he and his family struggling to afford his medical care. http://www.paulwilliams.com

All performances are being donated so that 100% of the admissions can be donated to Paul Williams' family. In addition to raising funds, the event is intended to draw awareness to the contributions to the world of music made by this extraordinary man.
