Austin, TX (PRWEB) June 17, 2009
Ivy Worldwide, word-of-mouth and influencer marketing agency formerly known as Buzz Corps, is pleased to announce that it has added three team members--Tom Augenthaler, Mike Chapman and Michael Stout. With these additions, the agency will also be expanding their presence to Houston, Texas.
Mr. Augenthaler, former public relations manager for HP's Personal Systems Groups, joins as a Director responsible for managing Ivy Worldwide's corporate presence in Houston, Texas. Mr. Chapman, co-founder of the Austin Social Media Club, the International Social Media Club and EveryDotConnects.com, joins as an Associate tasked with core client project work, new business development, and international and public affairs clients. Mr. Stout, previously CFO at Hisaw & Associates, joins as Director of Operations tasked with creating and implementing policies, procedures and financial management tools.
Based in Houston, Texas, Tom Augenthaler will create and drive word-of-mouth referral programs for clients and generate new business acquisition as well as expand the agency's presence to the city. In his previous role as public relations manager for HP's Personal Systems Groups, Mr. Augenthaler was responsible for HP's consumer notebook products on a worldwide level. In this capacity, Mr. Augenthaler worked with Ivy Worldwide co-founders Geoff Nelson and Chris Aarons to develop and drive the award-winning "31 Days of the Dragon" campaign, which was most recently recognized as a finalist for ad:tech's Limelight Award for the Best Social Media Marketing & WOM Campaign category. Prior to his role at HP, Mr. Augenthaler worked for a number of public relations agencies including Hill & Knowlton, Weber Shandwick and Golin/Harris.
Mike Chapman's overall emphasis is on communications, beginning with the political and governmental affairs advocacy arena and now in the digital and world-of-mouth capacity with his position at Ivy Worldwide. Mr. Chapman was recently the recipient of a Texas Social Media Award, which recognized him as one of the top 25 social media users in Texas by the Austin American-Statesman. In his former roles, Mr. Chapman gained significant Washington, D.C. experience, working as a Legislative Director for current U.S. Senator Tim Johnson and in Government Affairs at the American Medical Association and National Association of Realtors. Mr. Chapman is a unique combination of a former lobbyist and a Congressional staffer who specializes in digital and social media communications, blogging and blogger relations, public relations, public affairs and conversational marketing.
"Ivy Worldwide represents the very best in word-of-mouth communications and co-marketing," says Mr. Chapman. "Chris Aarons and Geoff Nelson deal with enterprise level challenges while maintaining an unparalleled level of commitment to the community they work with. I'm very excited about the opportunity to work with the best of the best in this very important field."
In his previous role as chief financial officer at Hisaw & Associates, a general contractor with a focus on educational and municipal facilities, Michael Stout was responsible for improved management decision-making. A natural for streamlining business effectiveness and expenses, Mr. Stout saved $4.5MM while at Hisaw & Associates as well as generated over $50,000 by recommending sales of unused equipment. Michael brings over 20 years of experience to Ivy Worldwide and specializes in strategic management, corporate structure, cash management and accounting/finance.
"Our success precipitated the need to bring in more talent to support our growing client base and agency as a whole," says Ivy Worldwide co-founder Chris Aarons. "With Tom and Mike they bring their unique experience and passion for social media and word-of-mouth marketing, which includes a mutual understating of the importance of transparency and authenticity when connecting consumers with bloggers who essentially become evangelists of a product when done right. Also, as we continue to grow as an agency, it is not only critical to bring experienced social media experts on board, but also operational experts, like Mike Stout, who will help us manage and perform more efficiently as an agency."
