Design Awards Show Kicks Off Promax|BDA Conference In Style

Promax|BDA, the leading global association for marketing, promotion and design professionals working in the entertainment industry, concluded the first day of the 54th annual conference by announcing winners of its coveted Promax|BDA Design Awards. The highly anticipated ceremony recognizes the best in creativity and excellence in design in television broadcast marketing for 2009.

Comedian Judah Friedlander of NBC's hit series 30 Rock performed to a packed venue as he hosted the evening's ceremony. MTV UK and CNN topped off the list of repeat winners, each bringing home an astonishing 13 awards, while Warner Channel brought home an impressive 10 awards.

"The Promax|BDA Design awards are always a riot, but this year was out of control. The party was hopping, the wine was flowing and Judah had the audience in stitches," said Promax|BDA President Jonathan Block-Verk. "But, the best part for me was to see the magnificent work our community created. 2009 was a banner year for the industry, and the Promax|BDA Design Awards prove it."

The design emphasis at the Promax|BDA conference will continue throughout the next two days, featuring ground-breaking strategy workshops and instructional seminars for every stage of careers in graphic design, marketing and creative industries. The highly anticipated session entitled State of Design will provide a look at the most creative and eye-catching designs from across the globe, and will feature Justin Cone, Founder and Editor of Motionographer.com.    

On Thursday, June 18, visionary and President of Rhode Island School of Design John Maeda will give a highly anticipated keynote on Technologies Supporting Creative Leadership. Additionally, as it does every year, Promax|BDA will provide an exclusive look at the most revolutionary and compelling design work from around the world, covering advertising, promotion, gaming and film.
