Monroe was initially attracted to one of the site's newest products, leather wrapped feathers, designed in a Native American style.
Other celebrities, like Liz Bonds - Barry Bonds' wife - favored the leather Bible covers and the website's signature product, handcrafted spiritual pouches filled with chakra stones.
Still, the two events - the MTV Movie Awards and Monroe's Sweet 16 Party - have allowed INeedALeatherBag.com to find a new audience, albeit somewhat unlikely.
"Hollywood has been very welcoming for a family-owned company like ours," said Trina Linn, Thompsett's daughter and co-owner.
As I Need a Leather Bag grows exponentially, they maintain that they will work just as hard to keep people happy - not just celebrities - but everyone who has found their products to be of personal value.
