Marriott Chicago at Medical District/UIC Completes $5.0 Million Renovation

Officials of the Marriott at Medical District/UIC today announced that it has completed a major, $5 million renovation of all guest rooms and public areas, transforming the hotel into a stimulating, comfortable gathering place for travelers to Chicago. The Marriott hotel near United Center in Chicago and the West Loop, which is owned by Inland American Lodging Group, is managed by Davidson Hotel Company.

Key elements of the renovation include completely making over the Chicago hotel's 113 guest rooms, including new carpeting, furniture, bedding, wall coverings, artwork and lighting. The refurbished rooms feature a colorful palette of rich burgundy and gold tones with all white bedding. Each room is equipped with a new high definition television, a mini refrigerator, and an in-room safe. There is also a new desk that includes an advanced easy to use Jac Pack to satisfy travelers' technical needs. Guest bathrooms now have a white clean, crisp look with beautiful granite counter tops and new lighting fixtures, along with a new shower package including an oversized Kohler showerhead and curved rod.

The lobby features exclusive design elements implemented to develop Marriott's Signature "Great Room" concept, making it a fabulous place to work, socialize or just relax. The artwork in the lobby and throughout the hotel near the United Center and West Loop, features Chicago themes, such as Millennium Park, Navy Peir, Buckingham Fountain, Chicago Sears Tower, and the beautiful Chicago Skyline.

Rook's Corner Restaurant and Lounge carries the same rich color palet of burgundy and chocolate brown with touches of gold tones. The hotel's restaurant is an American Bistro that serves an electic mix of contemporary cuisine in a warm setting, featuring a Starbucks and two private dining rooms with an outside terrace. The Rook's Corner Lounge, with 42" flat screen televisions, offers a casual meeting place for light snacks and a wide array of beverages. The property offers over 3,500 square feet of meeting space, capable of handling groups of up to 200 people.
