Montana Kid Hammer was born in Great Falls, MT. After growing up in Montana, Guam, West Germany and the American west he attended Eastern Montana College, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical Institute, the Community College of the Air Force, and the Institute of Children’s Literature. Now residing in Fairbanks, Alaska, he has six children and four grandchildren. In his free time he enjoys US history, Bible study, horseback riding, shooting sports, and Civil War reenacting.
