The report -- titled "Online Predators and their Victims: Myths, Realities and Implications for Prevention and Treatment - was issued by the Crimes Against Children Research Center & Family Research Laboratory located at the University of New Hampshire.
Among its many findings, the report listed patterns of behavior that are "risky for youth to engage in," including: posting personal information, interacting online with unknown people, having unknown people on a buddy list, making rude or nasty comments to others on the web, sending personal information to unknown people met online, downloading images from file-sharing programs, visiting X-rated sites on purpose, using the web to embarrass or harass others, and talking online to unknown people about sex.
According to the report, youth communicating with unknown people and engaging in at least four of the other behaviors could be considered "high risk interactors."
