MoneySoft Releases PDQ Value™ Software to Value Small Businesses

New software from MoneySoft provides a six-step system for do-it-yourself small business valuations.

Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) June 25, 2009 -- Finding the value of a public company's stock is easy. You can call your broker or just look it up online. On the other hand, finding the value of a privately held small or mid-sized business is not so easy.

Since there is no readily traded market for their business, a valuation specialist or business appraiser is usually hired to prepare a valuation. Because of the expense of hiring a professional, most owners can't afford to track value on a routine basis.

MoneySoft, Inc. has just released a software system called PDQ Value™ that helps owners estimate the value of their small business. PDQ Value provides a six-step plan to valuing a business using the methods and approaches that are routinely used by valuation professionals, but it is aimed at the do-it-yourself market.

"PDQ Value is not a black-box applet that cranks out a value based upon some hidden formula or rule of thumb after inputting just a few numbers," according to Robert Machiz, MoneySoft's founder and president. "This is real valuation software, not a toy."

"Without a doubt, when facing a major business decision or a matter before an authority, a valuation prepared by a qualified professional is absolutely necessary," says Machiz. "PDQ Value is for the owner who wants to prepare their own valuation for personal use. After all, the value of a small business is often the largest portion of an owner's net worth. Tracking value makes good sense and, while it does take some work, you don't need to be an MBA or CPA to prepare a do-it-yourself valuation."

With an introductory price of $195 (until the end of the year), PDQ Value is well within the budget of most small businesses. The system includes a free valuation report writer along with context-sensitive help, a PDF manual and free technical support.

Additional information is available by calling MoneySoft at 800-966-7797 or on the company's website: www.moneysoft.com/small-business-valuation-software.

In addition to PDQ Value, MoneySoft offers software and information for mergers & acquisitions, financial statement analysis, business valuation, and fixed asset depreciation.
