Being A Fan is No Longer a Spectator Sport
Raleigh, N.C. (PRWEB) June 25, 2009
Having assembled an impressive roster of former NCAA coaches, including Terry Donahue (UCLA), Tommy Bowden (Clemson), Tommy Tuberville (Auburn), Dennis Franchione (Texas A&M), Glen Mason (Minnesota) and Mike Gottfried (Pittsburgh) to provide commentary, insight and fan interaction throughout the year, BusterSports.com is embarking on a first-ever nationwide fan recruitment effort.
Buster Sports has created a series of "wanted" posters highlighting top prospects active on their favorite team's message board. Three all-stars from the Big East were selected as top recruits: HOYASUXA, a Syracuse University Orange fan, MSAUL37, a West Virginia University Mountaineers fan and CARDINALJUNKIE, a University of Louisville Cardinals fan, all made the wanted list.
"The three guys coming out of the Big East are some of our strongest prospects," says Howard Sadel, VP of Marketing for Buster Sports Communications. "HOYASUXA defines dedication; his 11 videos have over 8,000 views revealing his fans are loyal followers. MSAUL37 brings rare athletic talent to the sport. His record of 10,250 posts proves that he can memorize fans on and off the field. CARDINALJUNKIE has the skills you'd expect from Heisman trophy winners - his 10,500 farks prove that is one of the best," adds Sadel.
As the site where "fans compete to win," BusterSports.com has scoured web sites from all BCS conferences to put together a recruiting class of the best and most prolific message posters, photo manipulators and video posters from around the country. The goal: entertainment in the form of fan vs. fan battles for team pride and recognition. The recruits might even get the opportunity to match wits with Buster's Big East expert Mike Gottfried.
