Welcome to the Pink Side
A registered nurse's battle with cancer.
Huntsville, AL (Vocus/PRWEB ) June 26, 2009 -- Sherry Wheeler's first book, Welcome to the Pink Side, is an autobiographical account of one woman's battle with breast cancer. Detailing the specific events during her fight with the disease, Wheeler shares her experiences, feelings, and thoughts. More specifically, she points the reader's attention to using a positive attitude to overcome the fear.
Wheeler, a two-time cancer survivor, has seen just about everything breast cancer can throw at a person. Welcome to the Pink Side puts a positive and humorous spin on her fight with the disease -- Wheeler bypasses the dry and serious tone often used when writing about cancer. She reinforces her idea that life goes on no matter what we do and no matter how we feel. Readers are encouraged to live for the moment, no matter what the circumstances.
Welcome to the Pink Side offers an emotional appeal to people with breast cancer, breast cancer survivors, and the loved ones of those who have been affected by cancer. Wheeler inspires any and all people who seek peace of mind and hope during times of great misfortune. She takes any negative attitudes the reader might have about cancer and creates a positive frame of mind.
Having never written anything before, Wheeler felt that her story was one that needed to be told. Wanting to offer the same love and support she was given during her fight with breast cancer, Welcome to the Pink Side is her offering to other people in hopes that it can give them the same support she received.
"I'm getting used to this no-boob thing. Actually, I'm enjoying not having to wear a bra. And all my friends tell me that it's hard to tell that I don't have any. I think they're just telling me that to make me feel better, but I don't mind, because I know they love me just the way I am. With boobs or without boobs, they've been there with me every step of the way, loving me and supporting me, and showing me the meaning of true friendship."
