Graduate School Introduces Summer Stimulus Program Prep Courses on Working in Federal Government for Just $59

Despite recent figures showing the District of Columbia's unemployment rate surpassing 10 percent, there are jobs in Washington. President Obama's American Recovery and Reinvestment ACT is adding approximately 12,000 new federal jobs to the area, but many would-be applicants don't have the knowledge of how to land a federal government position. To prepare job seekers for these opportunities, the Graduate School offers its Federal Job Readiness Institute courses in July and August at the affordable rate of $59 per session.

Washington, DC (PRWEB) June 26, 2009 -- Despite recent figures showing the District of Columbia's unemployment rate surpassing 10 percent, there are jobs in Washington.

"This Graduate School summer stimulus couldn't be more timely….and needed," says Lily Whiteman, author of How to Land a Top Paying Federal Job: Your Complete Guide and frequent columnist for The Washington Post and Federal Times. "There are unprecedented job opportunities right now and these courses will be of great benefit to area job-seekers."

Opportunities abound for federal employment due to the newly created jobs under the recent Recovery Act as well as unprecedented retirement levels. Job applicants need to know how to find the right information, how to match their skills with job requirements, how to write a resume that captures their unique attributes, and how to successfully present their skills in an interview.

"The Graduate School wants to assist the community in the best way we can - through affordable, relevant education and training," said Dr. Jerry Ice, CEO and President, The Graduate School. "Staffed by expert federal professionals, these courses will provide a tremendous value for the attendees."

Each session is three-hours long and will be held at the Graduate School's convenient downtown D.C. location at 600 Maryland Avenue, SW (L'Enfant Plaza Metro Stop). Sessions are scheduled in the mornings and afternoons on Saturdays from July 11 to August 15, 2009.
