Handcrafted Wooden Décor Blog Debuts Online
NormasWoodArt.com is a site that specializes in handmade wood décor. Recently, Norma Jeanrie, who operates the site and creates the art, started a coordinating educational blog.
Dartmouth, Nova Scotia Canada (PRWEB) June 27, 2009 -- For years, artisan Norma Jeanrie's handmade wood art has been relegated to her home. Inspired by her late father when she was a child, she initially started working with the wood medium to get out her own interest in the art, her efforts began taking up space her home, which lead to the launch of her website, www.NormasWoodArt.com in December 2008, though the business has been operational for six years.
"There was only so much room in my home," Jeanrie laughs. "But I also knew that there would be an interest in these pieces that I've made."
Ranging in design and style, Jeanrie's hand made, hand cut and self-sanded wood art are snapshots of various animals, nature scenes and even containers that could double as ring boxes. She also has wooden jewelry, bowls, pens, intarsia, puzzles, ornaments, segmentation, turning.
Her work has gone into homes in England, Ireland, Iraq, Canada, and throughout the United States.
Every detail of Jeanrie's woodwork is meticulous, made from exotic wood and perfect; its charm is infinite, all of which is cut and sanded by Jeanrie herself. "When you look at some of the art, they can really put a smile on someone's face. Wood art adds warmth to a home," she says.
Jeanrie's stock changes as she continues to craft new wood art, but for people who are looking for something more immediate, she's taken to the blogosphere by starting her very own educational blog, www.NormasWoodArtInfo.com.
"The blog is very educational in nature," she says. "I'm going to be writing about different types of wood and how to utilize the wall wood art in a home. There will definitely be several helpful hints in regards to tools and techniques, as well as new wood varieties that people can look out for."
Home décor, at times, can be dull, but luckily, Norma Jeanrie's hobby is turning to highly complimented accent pieces for homes across North America.
"I think the biggest pay off is just to know that people actually like it," Jeanrie says. "A lot of myself goes into the creation of each piece and it's something I'm very happy with sharing these with other people.
"Ultimately, making people happy and being able to be open about the art itself through the blog is enough to keep the site going for many, many more years," she adds.
