DECC Support EyeforEnergy's Asia Pacific Decommissioning Summit
EyeforEnergy's Offshore Decommissioning Summit, Asia Pacific, taking place on October 1st - 2nd later this year at the Hilton hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, has the support of 3 key regulatory bodies.
Kuala Lumpur (PRWEB) June 28, 2009 -- The Department for Energy and Climate Change in the UK has agreed to send their Head of Offshore Decommissioning, Keith Mayo, to take part in this ground breaking conference. He will be joining representatives from the Department of Mineral Fuels of Thailand and the Department of Resources, Energy and Tourism of Australia, in discussing the development of the regulatory framework in this emerging decommissioning hotspot.
Expertise from regions in which regulations have already been developed, such as the UKcs, will prove invaluable to the continuing development of the legislative framework in the Asia Pacific and EyeforEnergy are delighted to have received the support and input of Decc to facilitate this.
Formal invitations have also been sent to Bpimgas of Indonesia, Petronas decommissioning working group in Malaysia and the MMS in the US in what will surely develop into a truly international meeting point for decommissioning. Also, already confirmed to speak on the agenda are regional and international decommissioning experts from the likes of Chevron, Total and Shell.
