Two New Hotels Underway in Glenwood Springs, Colorado; Built by Stonebridge Companies
Stonebridge Companies, one of the nation's leading development and hospitality management companies, announced that work is underway on the construction of a Residence Inn by Marriott and a Courtyard by Marriott in the mountain resort town of Glenwood Springs, Colorado.
Glenwood Springs, CO (PRWEB) June 30, 2009 -- With an eye to the future, Stonebridge Companies, based in Englewood, Colorado, has started construction on two new hotels in the lively mountain-and-river town of Glenwood Springs, Colorado. Glenwood Springs is located just off Interstate 70, 160 miles west of Denver and 44 miles northwest of Aspen, at the confluence of the Roaring Fork and Colorado Rivers. These first-class lodging facilities are being built next to the new Glenwood Meadows Shopping Center which is anchored by Target and Lowes Home Improvement Center and also features a variety of local restaurants and boutiques along the Market Street promenade. The hotels will also benefit as a result of their proximity to the Glenwood Springs Community Center, which is located directly across the street. The enterprise that will own the hotels is a partnership between Stonebridge Companies and the Dunrene Group in Aspen; Dunrene Group is the real estate investment company that developed Glenwood Meadows. "The addition of these two new hotels will establish a new standard for the area, one which complements The Meadows Shopping Center, and provides high end inventory for many years to come," said Robert Macgregor, President of the Dunrene Group.
The Courtyard by Marriott will offer 101 rooms in a three-story, 56,000 square foot structure and feature a redesigned lobby, inclusive of the contemporary "S-Bar" and a convenient grab-and-go food outlet. This hotel will be located on the corner of Wulfsohn Road and Midland Avenue. The Residence Inn by Marriott will be a four story, 88,000 square foot all-suite hotel with 124 units located on the corner of Wulfsohn Road and East Meadows Drive. Both hotels will have indoor pools and fitness rooms.
"The Marriott flags will be a welcome addition in Glenwood Springs, particularly since there aren't any between Vail and Grand Junction, a span of roughly 150 miles," said Navin C. Dimond, President and Chief Executive Officer of Stonebridge Companies. "Tourism statistics are very strong in this resort town located along I-70, and occupancy levels are further supported by a good base of year-round commercial business."
The City of Glenwood Springs has endorsed these two new properties by passing an economic incentives and rebate program that has allowed these projects to move forward.
The proposed hotels are in close proximity to river rafting, hiking, biking, Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park and the Glenwood Hot Springs Pool. The Residence Inn by Marriott and the Courtyard by Marriott in Glenwood Springs are scheduled to open in the Spring of 2010.
