New Kids' Guitar Web Store and Blog Strikes the Right Chord
Newly launched website, CoolKidGuitars.com has a selection of neat axes (that's guitars for the squares) that kids will fall in love with instantly. The site's owner sat down to talk about the importance of music education in a child's life, as well as her brand new web ventures.
King of Prussia, PA (PRWEB) June 28, 2009 -- Back in 1993, the scientific journal, "Nature," published a report in which an experiment was conducted to show that listening to music could improve memory. Since then the effect, dubbed "The Mozart Effect," has been a starting point for many public schools to improve upon their music programs. But music education can start at the home and such as the case with new upstart website www.CoolKidGuitars.com.
"I used to pretend to be in a band, singing into a hairbrush and I was introduced to music that way," explained Sandra Wiley.
Wiley is the proprietor of Cool Kid Guitars, an e-store that specializes in children's guitars, which she launched in April 2009.
"Music for kids can help expose them to the arts and teach them a discipline while having fun," she continued.
Although the site is relatively new, it has a rather impressive catalog of well made, and adorable, kids guitars - with styles ranging from a standard solid color electric guitar to a flying-V styled guitar with the giraffe-colored body.
According to Wiley, she's looking into adding acoustic guitars alongside her catalog of neat electric guitars.
Most recently, Wiley has added a new blog to the site's many features.
"The blog is a way to show the relation between music, kids and their ability to express themselves creatively," she said of www.KidGuitarsGuru.com. "We want kids to be authentic and creative."
Across the country, many music programs are being lessened or shut down altogether and during these tough economic times, schools are feeling the brunt as much as any other working person. Still, Wiley is steadfast in encouraging families to start hitting all the right notes at home.
"We want to explore musical education and show that it can be fun and creative," Wiley explained. "All of those factors are important for a burgeoning mind…provided they don't jam too loud."
