It may also be used by non-state agencies including the North Carolina University System and its member campuses, instructional components of the Department of Public Instruction, Instructional components of the North Carolina Community College System, as well as local (municipal and county) governments.

The contract provides agencies with the procurement options and functionality to meet their unique requirements by offering:

-- Full integration with NCID, the State's internal identification management system
-- Integrated audio conferencing options
-- A customizable interface and the ability to build templates
-- No minimum order quantities, no set-up fees, and three-day order fulfillment

"Whether it's meeting with co-workers across departments, or conducting large town hall meetings with constituents, Acrobat Connect Pro can help break through technology barriers by letting virtually anyone participate in effective online communication and knowledge transfer," said Barry Leffew, vice president, Public Sector, Adobe Systems Incorporated.

Already in use in government agencies across the country and the world, Acrobat Connect Pro is designed to work on a variety of platforms. It leverages the power of Adobe Flash® Player, which is installed on more than 98% of Internet-connected desktops, to provide users with instant and secure access to interactive, multimedia-rich online meetings, virtual classrooms, and presentations without cumbersome downloads and IT support.

"We are pleased to expand our portfolio of state contracting vehicles with the addition of this North Carolina agreement," said Craig P. Abod, president of Carahsoft, which serves as Adobe's master GSA Schedule partner. "Through this contract award, government agencies throughout North Carolina may procure Adobe's industry's leading web conferencing solution with simplified ordering options, best pricing, and fast delivery."
