All we seem to here on every news program, and read in every newspaper magazine, is how consumer debt is crippling banks and other financial institutions. The credit crunch has been and gone, interest rates are haywire, and the situation does not look any better for the average Joe on the street. A debt management solution is something that anyone facing credit problems could benefit from.
Right on cue the people from the Debt Management Centre have launched a new range of products and services aimed at providing a debt management solution for anybody who may require one. Debt management can include the arrangement of an Individual Voluntary Arrangement (IVA) with the creditors of the individual, and this type of solutions can vastly decrease monthly repayments.
Chris Stedding, a spokesman for the Debt Management Centre tells us that, "Most people who are up to their ears in debt do not realise that there is often significant room to adjust the actual monthly repayments they need to make. By having us create a custom debt management solution, we enable the client to take advantage of the fact that most lenders would prefer money repaid, albeit more slowly, than to actually have the borrower default on payments. All of our debt reduction offers are based around this premise, namely it is better to repay something each month, than not to replay anything."
This is a rather interesting comment, and one that people in debt should take to heart. All major lenders would much prefer that loans were repaid, instead of having to take legal action against the borrower. Quite often it is possible to negotiate for reduced monthly repayments of 50% or more.
Chris Stedding supports this argument by adding that, "We have seen some startling reductions in not only monthly repayments, but in the overall level of debt a person is facing. The way we tailor our debt management solution to each individual means we are usually able to reduce debt on all levels. For example, we had one client come to us, with over £50,000 of debt hanging over them, with monthly repayments approaching £1000. We were able to reduce this to less than £20,000 of actual outstanding debt, and reduce the monthly repayments by two thirds. Anybody with a significant level of debt almost certainly stands to gain from our services."
With millions of people struggling to make ends meet in the current global financial environment, a service such as the one offered by the Debt Management Centre is surely going to help individuals, lenders and the economy in general. A personalised debt reduction program is the ideal way for those people who find themselves in financial trouble, to ensure that they lessen he impact as much as possible. If the quoted figures are correct, then the Debt Management Centre can turn a financial nightmare in to a manageable, and above all, affordable monthly overhead. And one which will eventually be repaid, not merely accrue interest and never scratch the principal sum owed.
