Destination DC Invests in Green-Friendly, Time-Saving Bid Book Generator Technology from New Media Gateway

New Media Gateway announces a new partnership with Destination DC, the official convention and tourism corporation for the nation's capital, to develop a sleek, new sales proposal solution designed to save time, reduce waste and engage with customers in a fresh, interactive platform.

A recent study conducted by New Media Gateway's Hospitality Division found that sales, marketing and administrative professionals at destination marketing organizations spent a staggering 31% of their work week on "downtime" activities . Downtime activities are defined as any redundant/manual tasks that could be automated, and/or any time that a sales person spends not in front of a prospective or customer.

Destination DC sales personnel, like their counterparts at other convention and visitor organizations, currently respond to requests for proposal (RFPs) from meeting planners by compiling printed bid responses (or "bid books") over the course of several days or weeks. By developing easy to use, customizable, paperless templates through New Media Gateway's Digital Marketing Center (DMC) and Bid Book Generator, Destination DC's sales team will provide clients the information they need in a timely, interactive and eco-friendly fashion that can be adapted across markets.

The Digital Marketing Center saves costs, off-setting printer fees and material costs through a web-based interface. The Bid Book Generator's ability to store global content (imagery, text, references, etc.) allows representatives to categorize and customize the bid response to their target audiences, saving staff time in compiling materials.

Destination DC's sales team also stands to gain in productivity, spending more face time with the clients, learning how best to tailor each proposal to fit the customer's needs.
