omNovia Technologies announced that its web conference platform now offers an integrated Twitter module that allows presenters and/or attendees to send tweets directly from the omNovia web conferencing system. The company also added a new feature to its Event Manager to schedule automated tweets that promote online events. omNovia is the first web conference provider to offer integrations with social networking websites. And, as the demand for social networking increases, other web conference providers are likely to follow omNovia's suit.

"After having analyzed web conference and webinar related updates in social network web sites, we realized that most of these updates either promoted online events or provided real time feeds for the events. We wanted to create a solution that would allow our users to keep in touch with their online community within the online meeting room and utilize social media marketing to promote their online events", said Adem Sengul, Marketing Manager at omNovia Technologies.
The new omNovia Twitter module provides two easy-to-use tools. The new "chat to tweet" allows users to update their Twitter status with a simple chat message in the room. This tool is similar to omNovia's SMS feature that allows moderators to send important messages to attendees who may or may not be present in the room. "Scheduled to tweet", on the other hand, creates automated tweets with a direct link to the event registration page that would help presenters increase attendance to an online event. According to a recent article in Tech Crunch, there are more the one million active twitter users in the United States with three million twitter messages per a day.

"To create engagement with online communities in a way that generates exposure, opportunity and sales is an integral part of our marketing strategy. Now, with omNovia's twitter module, we can generate a greater exposure and enjoy higher attendance for our webinars" said CandleCharts.com's president, Steve Nison, who is the author of Japanese Candlestick charting techniques.

In addition to providing high quality audio, video, desktop sharing and other presentation tools, omNovia has introduced many innovative features such as integrated SMS messaging, World map, Instant Poll and Recast, the only interactive recording technology of its kind. The addition of the new Twitter module is in line with omNovia's commitment to combine rich content with social networking to improve the live interactive experience. This unique combination enables businesses to effectively collaborate and improve communication with employees, customers and partners while reducing cost of travel.
