The site calls 'em as it sees 'em, and in so doing renders a real service to booklovers and to publishers and authors outside the cultural mainstream.

Independent publisher Fearless Books has announced the revival of the online Fearless Reviews, the most elegant and eloquent online review dedicated exclusively to independently published books, with a special emphasis on the best work being released by self-publishers. From 1998 to 2006, the Fearless Reviews provided a "best of" selection of indie books, drawing rave reviews itself from publishers who benefited from the public service.
"Fearless provides an oasis of intelligent, independent reviewing in a desert of prepackaged marketing hype," said Peter Goodman of Stone Bridge Press. "The site calls 'em as it sees 'em, and in so doing renders a real service to booklovers and to publishers and authors outside the cultural mainstream." Fern Reiss of PublishingGame.com wrote, "The Fearless Reviews offer a critically discerning and much-needed small press focus in today's publishing review scene." And Brigitte Thompson of Datamaster Publishing Services noted that "Once our book was reviewed by Fearless, we gained a new level of professionalism as a publisher… A positive review from Fearless gets your books noticed and book orders flowing!"
Suspended three years ago for lack of operating funds, the Fearless Reviews return with an innovative Sponsorship advertising program designed to sustain the Reviews while providing independent publishers with a valuable advertising platform at very low cost. Once a publisher has signed on as a Sponsor, it is eligible to have 1-4 books reviewed over the next year. Sponsorship does not guarantee that any book will be reviewed, but a year's advertising on the Sponsors Page is locked in.
"For many small publishers working with limited resources, advertising on the well-traveled Fearless site will be well worth the admission price alone," notes Fearless Reviews founder D. Patrick Miller. "The income derived from Sponsorships will enable us to pay our reviewers and continually invest in online publicity for the Reviews and our Sponsors. As before, we will write up only the best books sent to us for review, according to the standards that we've always followed. We do not publish negative reviews."
The Fearless Reviews are linked to the heavily-traveled Fearless Publishing Guide, which ranks first in Google searches for the term "how to get published." The Fearless Books site currently draws over 155,000 visitors annually. Miller has been self-publishing under the Fearless name since 1997, while also writing for such major publishing houses as Viking, Holt, Celestial Arts/Random House, Hay House, and Tarcher/Penguin. Through Fearless Literary Services, Miller and his associates assist many other writers with the development of fiction manuscripts, nonfiction proposals, and screenplays. Miller has recently authored the e-book Choose Your Publishing Option, marketed via Smashwords.
