Four year old woman-owned company expands and rebrands despite the recession.

The company is adopting the new moniker of Turtle Wings Environmental Services because of the vast array of services now being offered by the Capitol Heights based company. The four-year-old corporation started as an electronics recycling business then expanded into the product and data destruction arena and is now providing a full array of environmental services nationwide, including consulting.
Turtle Wings has recently completed a consulting project with a division of the U.S. Army to provide protocol for the correct recycling and destruction of a variety of electronic equipment. “We understand the liability inherent with recycling and data destruction. If any organization sends electronics to a landfill or to an un-vetted recycler, then they have exposed themselves to possible CERCLA, RCRA, Civil and State Liability,” said Douglass Yale, Sales Director. “We help companies and government agencies figure out the correct end-of-lifecycle procedures so that liability is eliminated.”
“We just finished advising a large IT company on all the laws and regulations regarding data destruction. We provided a cross-walk of these regulations. There seems to be a lot of confusion in the marketplace about which standards are applicable to different types of data and different types of companies and agencies,” said Zack Boorstein, VP.
“Though we have greatly expanded our service offerings, we remain committed to providing superior customer service to every customer,” added Elizabeth Wilmot, President. “We have built this company from a two person operation by providing excellent customer service every single time. We rely on our customers for their repeat business and for referrals. We always try to give 110%. We look forward to providing this same service level to an increased customer base.”
Turtle Wings is a woman-owned, hub-zoned company that provides electronics recycling; data destruction; and environmental consulting services to nationwide customer under the trade names of Turtle Wings and Data Killers. Turtle Wings holds two government contracts and has been certified by a number of agencies. Turtle Wings has a no e-waste landfill policy and is committed to domestic recycling of electronics.
