I am truly honored to have been selected as a recipient of TraderPlanet's economic stimulus package, an interactive social networking site for active traders and investors, announced today that member Anthony Mays of Land O' Lakes, FL., has been selected as the winner of its economic stimulus package aimed at providing immediate financial relief during the current economic downturn.

As part of its ongoing commitment to giving back to the broader community, selected Mr. Mays to receive two months of mortgage payments totaling $2,994.52. Mr. Mays was chosen out of 17 candidates who submitted either videos and/or short articles to between March 10 and June 1, demonstrating why they merited assistance. More than 2,000 TraderPlanet community members along with a panel of judges reviewed the submitted entries.

The TraderPlanet community chose Sandrina Mayela of North Port, FL, as the runner-up for one month's assistance and Brandon Wright of Columbus, IN, as its third-place winner to receive $250 in stimulus aid.

"I am truly honored to have been selected as a recipient of TraderPlanet's economic stimulus package," said Mr. Mays (40, banking industry). "I know from first-hand experience that asking for help is not pleasant, but TraderPlanet has done much to ease my personal burden right now. I will be forever grateful because now I will be able to make the July mortgage payment on my home, which would have not been possible, otherwise. I would also like to congratulate each and every one who submitted their essays for having the courage to expose their own financial struggles on the TraderPlanet forum."

Added Ms. Mayela (30, commodity trading advisor), "TraderPlanet is truly an example of an organization that walks their talk by actually giving back to the community in the most practical way possible with this contest. I was in shock when I found out that I won - especially since it could not have come at a better time. My heart and prayers also go out to everyone else who submitted entries."

Commenting on the contest, Florida State Representative Will W. Weatherford, who was also one of the judges, said, "So many people are in need these days, and I am touched that TraderPlanet goes beyond helping people become better investors and goes so far as to help people improve their lives in a broader sense. This was a great project for TraderPlanet to initiate, and I know they have more plans to do more good for planet Earth."

With more than 10,000 members since its launch in January, provides traders with the education and skills development to become more strategic and knowledgeable investors. It has also donated money for various charities since its inception.

"Some of the stories would make for a chart-topping country-music song. All of them are deserving, so it was nice that the decision was left up to the TraderPlanet community to decide and not up to one individual," said David Bellamy, singer and songwriter for the Bellamy Brothers. "Having played many charity benefit concerts over the decades, I am in full support of TraderPlanet's charity efforts."
