PerforMax3, Inc. Awarded $1.85 Million Contract for Online Training
PerforMax3, Inc., a leading provider of web-based training solutions for government and private sector healthcare organizations, today announced that the Department of Defense funded a $1.85 million task order to streamline delivery of safety and medical training to 420,000 federal healthcare workers worldwide. Implementation is projected to save $67 million over the next four years.
Clearwater, FL (PRWEB) July 4, 2009 -- PerforMax3, Inc. has been awarded a contract from the Department of Defense Federal Health System to streamline online training. The contract is a part of a collaborative effort between the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to address the training needs of healthcare workers providing care to veterans, active service personnel, and their families. PerforMax3 courses will be delivered to clinical and non-clinical personnel in military treatment facilities, VA hospitals, and clinics around the world. The project will bring standardized, web-based training, required by the Joint Commission and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), to all healthcare workers within these agencies.
By delivering a standardized set of online training, the DoD and VA project net savings of $15 million in the first year, $32 million by the second year, $50 million by the third year, and $67 million by the fourth year of implementation. Standardized training will help improve the quality and safety of medical care for over nine million veterans and military personnel, including those injured in the line of duty.
The PerforMax3 training project includes the delivery of AuthorMax, a tool that will enable each medical treatment facility to specialize and extend training to address local, site specific requirements and topics. The AuthorMax authoring product is built around ToolBook, a powerful web-based training platform developed by SumTotal Systems.
The project is funded through the Joint Incentive Fund (JIF), which was established in 2003 as a part of the National Defense Authorization Act. The purpose of the JIF is to encourage ongoing collaboration between the DoD and VA. JIF proposals are submitted by DoD or VA project sponsors each year, and are approved by the Health Executive Committee. Navy Medicine and the Department of Veterans Affairs sponsored PerforMax3's project, which addresses the VA and DoD Joint Executive Council's goal "to improve the access, quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of healthcare for beneficiaries through collaborative activities."
