Vortex A/C Provides Total Enclosure Protection and is Now Available in NEMA 12 Rated Models
The NEMA 12 Vortex A/C from Vortec provides total enclosure protection against heat and contamination. The Vortex A/C converts a flow of compressed air into cool, clean and dry low pressure air to protect VFD's, PLC's, servos and other sensitive electronics inside NEMA 12 rated enclosures.
Cincinnati, OH (PRWEB) July 8, 2009 -- The NEMA 12 Vortex A/C from Vortec provides total enclosure protection against heat and contamination. The Vortex A/C converts a flow of compressed air into cool, clean and dry low pressure air to protect VFD's, PLC's, servos and other sensitive electronics inside NEMA 12 rated enclosures. Models are also available for NEMA 4 and 4X rated enclosures and are UL Listed. Unlike vapor compression type air conditioners, the Vortex A/C has no moving parts, it uses no refrigerants and is not affected by high ambient temperatures or harsh environments. It is a fraction of the size and cost of an air conditioner and is extremely reliable in protecting electronics in hot (up to 175˚F / 80˚C), wet, dirty and mist laden locations.
The Vortex A/C is easily mounted to either the top or side of your enclosure simply by punching a 1 ½" knockout (1 15/16" diameter) hole and connecting the 5 micron automatic drain compressed air filter that is included with the unit. Attach your compressed air supply and the Vortex A/C will maintain your enclosure between 80 to 90˚F (25 to 29˚C). No electrical wiring is necessary because the Vortex A/C uses a proven integral mechanical thermostat. If continuous pressurization of the enclosure is desired, simply remove a set screw and a small amount of clean air is provided to keep the enclosure contamination-free, regardless of the cooling mode.
Models are available that provide from 900 to 5000 BTUH (264 to 1465 watts) cooling capacity. 5000 BTUH models are two-stage coolers: to conserve compressed air, during periods of low heat load only one stage is activated via the mechanical thermostat. All models are guaranteed for ten years from the date of purchase.
