Columbia, South Carolina Resident Publishes Children's Book

Children Learn About the Importance of Showing Respect to Others from a Group of Animal Characters

(PRWEB) July 9, 2009 -- All Aboard The Lighthouse Learning Express by Columbia, South Carolina resident Emmalee Elizabeth Robbins was recently released by Dorrance Publishing Co., Inc.

How do you feel when someone says something mean to you? It certainly doesn't feel good. Ivy, the caterpillar, is riding the Lighthouse Learning Express when Crackle, the crabby crab, insults her. Will Crackle take the advice of Dr. Sagacious, the wise old owl, who encourages him to show respect to Ivy and apologize for hurting her feelings?

All Aboard The Lighthouse Learning Express is a series of fun stories for teachers and parents to read with their children. Each focuses on a different characteristic that encourages children that learning is important, and learning can be fun. All Aboard The Lighthouse Learning Express, by Emmalee Elizabeth Robbins, teaches children the importance of respect toward others and having a positive attitude toward all.

Having received her master of fine arts degree in theatre, Emmalee Elizabeth Robbins is a freelance artist who teaches and directs theatre, dance, and speech communication. As a member of Northeast Presbyterian Church and the Daughters of the American Colonists, she has always been associated with church, civic, and fine arts organizations. South Carolina will always be home for Emmalee, for she has lived and worked in many of the towns in her state. She is a speech instructor at the Buckley School of Public Speaking.

A former television hostess, Emmalee has turned her attention to writing, performing, and storytelling. Joy and Grace are the words that come to mind when she thinks of her children and grandchildren. With Dr. Dick Goodwin, who composed the music, Emmalee wrote All Aboard The Lighthouse Learning Express (ten books) as educational tools to help Lugoff Elementary School promote character education.

All Aboard The Lighthouse Learning Express is a 34-page paperback with a retail price of $8.00. This ISBN is 978-0-8059-7855-1. It was published by Dorrance Publishing Co., Inc. of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. For more information or to request a review copy, please visit our virtual press room at www.dorrancepressroom.com.
