James and Tiffany Catledge have announced their endorsement for Meg Whitman, Republican candidate for California governor in 2010. Whitman is a former eBay chief executive, who launched her campaign in February. She is seeking to succeed Arnold Schwarzenegger as governor of the nation's most populous state.

James and Tiffany Catledge today announced their endorsement for Meg Whitman, Republican candidate for California governor in 2010.

"After attending a private dinner dedicated to introducing Meg to local Californians, we have decided she is the best candidate to lead California into the future,' said James Catledge.

Catledge was personally contacted by Whitman to attend the June 25 dinner, which was organized to support her candidacy. The Catledges were co-chairs at the event. In 2008, Catledge served on the Nevada finance committee for GOP leader Mitt Romney's Republican primary bid and he was a strong supporter of Sen. John McCain's GOP Presidential campaign.

Whitman is a former eBay chief executive, who launched her campaign in February. She is seeking to succeed Arnold Schwarzenegger as governor of the nation's most populous state. The 52-year-old Whitman has been politically active for more than a year. She served as Romney's finance chair and was a national co-chair for McCain.

Honorary chairs for the Thursday night event included former California governor, the Hon. Pete Wilson, as well as Sen. Mark Wyland, Assemblyman Nathan Fletcher, Supervisor Bill Horn and Supervisor Dianne Jacob.
