A first-of-its-kind app for the iPhone developed by a charity. Users can view the latest videos about the treatment of renal cancers, listen to audio podcasts, or take a kidney cancer trivia quiz. This app is distributed free of charge in the iTunes App Store.

The KCA's new app gives patients, survivors and supporters the opportunity to learn more about state of the art treatments for kidney cancer.

The app has multiple icons, including one that directs users to a brief, informative "About Us" section that contains important contact information, and touches on the KCA's inception, primary goal of eradicating the disease, as well as its various services for people affected by the disease.

"Our app is highly effective and comprehensive because it presents users with an easy to use format, and manages to compile a lot of essential information in podcasts and an interactive game," said Director of Development and Public Affairs, Carolyn Konosky.

In keeping with the theme of accessibility, the app offers the most recent audio and video podcast in the areas of surgical management of the disease, research, treatment options and living with cancer. There is also a trivia game that acts as an educational tool by providing facts about the KCA and kidney cancer.

Konosky also emphasized the value of having links to the KCA's online store and donation page, stating that "the app is not only appealing in terms of the amount of information it provides, but also because people don't have to simply rely on going to their computers to access our page to donate or make purchases from our store, they can just use their mobile device almost anywhere."

The KCA's cutting-edge app has attracted unprecedented interest in the kidney cancer community, given its appeal to people who want to know more about the disease and the efforts to eradicate it at a worldwide level. It has been recommended to Apple to be featured in their App Store. To preview the app, visit
