Latest Version of Wiki-powered Requirements Management Software Provides Advanced Traceability and Management Capabilities

TechExcel, Inc., a leading provider of Application Lifecycle Management software, today announced the general availability of DevSpec 3.0. This newest version of TechExcel's requirements management software provides full collaboration within a team environment, powered by a Wiki editor. DevSpec 3.0 allows teams to come together as they define and manage requirements, specifications, stories, and other forms of collateral that represent an application's design. These artifacts can also be edited in a familiar, easy to use Wiki interface by multiple team members. While users enjoy this simple editing tool, there is a highly configurable process engine behind every action they perform. This gives DevSpec the ability to enforce workflow methodologies, manage security roles, and track custom attributes for each artifact.

"Wikis provide a great way to define requirements, especially when multiple stakeholders need to provide input," says Paul Unterberg, Product Manager of DevSpec. "The wiki-based approach already has a lot of traction in the industry. Our innovation was to incorporate advanced traceability and management capabilities with the easy-to-use definition technology. Using DevSpec, it is easy to see what projects, development items, defects, test cases, and other requirements are tied to an item. This gives a more complete view of the entire process, and reduces risks in other stages of development."

Key Benefits of DevSpec 3.0
DevSpec delivers visibility, traceability, and validation throughout the requirements processes and is unique for its ability to quantify a set of requirements, and use these quantified requirements to drive development and testing.
