SEIKO Precision and GlobalSign Time Stamp Tie-up
GlobalSign's security solutions selected to enable large scale digital signing
Tokyo, Japan (PRWEB) July 16, 2009 -- GlobalSign K.K. (jp.globalsign.com), the Japanese arm of the global Digital Certificate Security Specialist has announced that SEIKO Precision has partnered with GlobalSign to provide large scale time-stamping and digital signature solutions. SEIKO Precision will provide an accredited time-stamp service designed for GlobalSign that allows the company to develop more scalable services. The time-stamp service can be used in large-scale, large capacity digital signature solutions, an application difficult to achieve with their existing time-stamp services.
As part of the solution, GlobalSign's highly trusted Root CA will certify the SEIKO Time-stamp Authority's time-stamp service (certified by the Japan Data Communications Association as required to comply with electronic document laws), allowing the time-stamp to be incorporated into electronic documents and publicly trusted worldwide. The time stamp service certifies the date the electronic document / data was created and verifies that it has not been tampered with and can be used to protect intellectual property, medical records, email, and other electronic documents.
In future phases of the partnership, SEIKO will introduce GlobalSign's DocumentSign for Adobe Certified Document Services solution, for securing Adobe PDF documents to secure, for example, electronically distributed IR data and other information. As an authorised participant in Adobe's Certified Document Services (CDS) programme and the only provider of solutions for the Adobe CDS platform in Japan, GlobalSign's DocumentSign solution allows individual or departmental authors to digitally certify and add approval signatures to PDF documents to prove authenticity, authorship and time of creation.
