LifeCare® Poll: Most Workers Taking "Stay-cations" This Year

This release shares the results of an online poll of American workers regarding their summer vacation plans.

Shelton, CT (PRWEB) July 14, 2009 -- In another example of the steps that American workers are taking to save money and reduce expenses, two-thirds say they plan to take a vacation this summer but will not be traveling, according to the latest poll by LifeCare®, Inc., a leading provider of health and productivity solutions to employers nationwide. Here are the full results of the poll, which was conducted during the month of June on LifeCare's private web site:

Are you replacing your summer vacation with a "stay-cation" this year?

- Yes. I am taking time off and staying home – 66%
- No. I plan to take a summer vacation away from home – 22%
- No. I am not taking any time off – 12%

"We've seen quite an uptick in the number of people using our online Discount Center to access money-saving coupons for local theme parks, movies, video rentals and other kinds of diversions that don't require more than a short drive," said LifeCare CEO, Peter G. Burki. "We've also answered quite a few calls asking our specialists to help plan inexpensive trips but that number is certainly down a bit from past years."

LifeCare helps its clients address their financial challenges through a wide range of resources including access to financial and legal counselors, an online library of educational materials, and an enhanced bundle of financial and legal services that provide more in-depth consultation and educational materials.
