Patients Beyond Borders Thailand Edition to Launch in September
Land of Smiles to release guidebook showcasing medical services
Chapel Hill, NC (PRWEB) July 14, 2009 -- Healthy Travel Media and the Tourism Authority of Thailand jointly announce the launch of Patients Beyond Borders: Thailand Edition, to be published in English for international distribution in September 2009.
 Produced in collaboration with the Tourism Authority of Thailand and supported by hospitals and related government and private organizations, the 222-page guidebook will feature 32 pages of color inserts and offer an in-depth overview of Thailand's international hospitals, selected health travel agents, nearby recovery and guest accommodations, and area travel information.

Thailand was one of the earliest international medical tourism hubs, first as a destination for cosmetic surgery, and in the past decade as one of the leading destinations for patients seeking medical care abroad. Last year Thailand welcomed 1.2 million patients from more than 190 countries for a wide variety of procedures. Costs of medical procedures in Thailand are typically 30-80% lower than those in North America, Europe, and the Middle East.
