Judd Brown Designs to Develop "Big Papi" Restaurant Concept

Nationally Recognized Hospitality Design Firm to Collaborate with Red Sox Slugger David Ortiz and Classic Restaurant Concepts on "Big Papi's Grille".

Pawtucket, RI (PRWEB) July 16, 2009 -- Judd Brown Designs (JBD), together with their sister architectural firm Jefferson Group Architects (JGA), has been selected to create the new "Big Papi's Grille" concept. The partnership of Classic Restaurant Concepts, LLC (CRC)and David Ortiz, affectionately know to all Red Sox Nation as "Big Papi", chose JBD for this very important first for the new partnership after CRC and JBD collaborated on several other restaurant projects.

Scheduled to open on July 23, 2009, the restaurant is located on RT 9 in Framingham, MA in the former location of Metro 9 Steakhouse. JBD was asked by Classic Restaurant Concepts to develop a brand for the proposed new restaurant. The concept menu will feature burgers, steaks and a variety of selections catering to a casual but sophisticated clientele. The goal was to develop a brand and logo featuring the iconic "Big Papi" name while clearly defining the intended style of the restaurant.

Once the brand was developed, JBD concentrated on the interior design of the facility. It was determined that some of the existing décor would remain but that the exterior and interior should clearly indicate a change in style and concept. "This will be a full service family friendly restaurant themed to honor one of Boston's most beloved sports heroes," said Peter Sarmanian, President of Classic Restaurant Concepts.

The interior décor will feature black and white and sepia toned artwork and murals of David Ortiz and his fans. Interior colors and finishes will be updated and a new private dining area "Table 34" will be introduced. This space will serve as Big Papi's personal dining space as he plans on frequenting the restaurant when he is in town. Table 34 will also be available for small private parties.

JBD, together with their sister architectural firm, JGA are internationally known hospitality designers specializing in restaurants, private clubs, hotels and resorts. They are currently working on various projects including Harlingen, TX, Harrisburg, PA, New York City and Moscow.
