Massachusetts-based Perillon Software to Present at Enviroplan Consulting Seminar on Massachusetts Greenhouse Gas Reporting Rule

Will Demonstrate Ability to Help MA-based Companies Report Carbon Emissions Data

Littleton, MA (PRWEB) July 17, 2009 -- Perillon Software, a leading provider of Energy, Environmental and Sustainability solutions, today announced its participation in an Enviroplan Consulting-sponsored Seminar on the new Massachusetts Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Reporting Rule - MA 310 CMR 7.71: Mandatory Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reporting Emergency Regulation. The event will take place from 8am to Noon on July 23, 2009, at the DoubleTree Guest Suites in Waltham, MA.

The Seminar is a one-day conference where senior executives will gather to explore how the new state regulations will affect their business. The rule requires any facility that emits more than 5,000 short tons of CO2 equivalents from stationary sources (whether from fossil fuel combustion or biofuels), and any facility that is required to have an air permit under Title V of the Clean Air Act to report annually its greenhouse gas emissions. All facilities impacted must report 2009 emissions by April 15, 2010.

The seminar's keynote speaker, James Colman, Assistant Commissioner, MA Department of Environmental Protection, will explain the new rule and how it will affect MA-based companies. He will be followed by three speakers from Enviroplan Consulting -- Dr. John Bewick, Stephen Greene and Dr. Howard Ellis - who will discuss how to develop GHG emissions inventory and future GHG regulatory requirements likely to be faced by Massachusetts companies. A representative from a large Northeast energy company will then discuss his company's approach to GHG emissions reporting.

"Perillon is pleased to participate in this timely seminar with Enviroplan, since all MA-based facilities affected by the new rule are required to be managing 2009 emissions data and submitting reports to the state using the Climate Registry Reporting Protocol" says Perillon President and COO John Niemoller. "Based in Massachusetts ourselves, Perillon will follow Enviroplan Consulting's discussion to provide an overview of how our complete GHG emissions reporting solution can support companies affected by the regulation and do so at an affordable price."

Companies interested in attending the seminar should contact Kay Gahwyler at Enviroplan Consulting at 973-575-2555, x3213. Those interested in meeting with Perillon at the event or receiving a demo of the Perillon Software solution should contact Renee Hanson at 978-486-3069.
