It's a common mistake to believe the Japanese people have a life expectancy of 82, the highest in the world, solely because they drink green tea. In fact green teas contain caffeine and tannins that may be harmful to digestion. Instead the new Ten-Chi Cha tea from Eco Vita brings to the United States a blend of 12 herbs representing the best of herbal remedies grown in Japan for a thousand years. With 55 Billion gallons of tea consumed each year in the United States alone, the tea market is booming. The introduction of the "green movement" has only inspired a stronger drive for natural herbal teas.
The arrival of Ten-Chi Cha comes at no surprise, with the abundance of caffeine saturated teas, the US was looking for an alternative. Ancient Japan held the answers. Over 8 Centuries ago, Eisai, the known founder of Zen Buddhism, established the tradition of tea in Japan. In his two volume book How to Stay Healthy by Drinking Tea, he wrote "Tea is the ultimate mental and medical remedy and has the ability to make one's life more full and complete." Since then the art of producing and consuming tea has been practiced and perfected in Japan. With new clinically proven benefits of drinking tea, the tea industry is on the up and ups as the projected sales tops 2 Billion dollars. Ten-Chi Cha hopes to the benefits of Eisai's ancient Japanese tea to the modern world.
Ten-Chi Cha, literally translated from Japanese, means "Heaven & Earth Tea" and contains 12 herbs carefully processed through roasting and odor elimination techniques perfected over 50 years in Japan. The blend offers a delicate roasted tea taste, a lovely alternative to the fast paced packed experience provided by today's coffee houses.
The ingredients detoxify the intestines, may aid in maintaining healthy circulatory system. The principle ingredient is dokudami (houttuynia cordata), which Japanese use as an healing herbal tea. Nutritional studies have shown that the quercitrin found in the dokudami leaf and the isoquercitrin in the plant's spike positively impact on the capillaries and can aid in reducing the hardening of the arteries. Other ingredients include: sicklepod, kuma-zasa, persimmon, hardy rubber tree, nomame senna, Chinese boxthorn, soybean, large-fruited adlay, shiso, licorice and krantze aloe.
Ten-Chi Cha is manufactured under highly regulated environemnt, as it has initiated the "Ozone Sterilization and Deodorization System" cleansing the herbs with clean, fresh water. This process reduces the harsh flavor created by dokudami, and allows for a more environmentally safe production. Ten-Chi Cha is made from plants of the highest quality, each plant must be certified to be in conformance with the ISO 9001:2000 standards.
Ten-Chi Cha is a product created by Mr. Hiroshi Kumagai from the Akita prefecture in Japan. In 2001, Mr. Kumagai suffered a near fatal brain hemorrhage and slowly recovered through drinking herbal teas in Ten-Chi Cha, as well as conventional methods. In 2008 a close friend, Mr. Tetsuji Shiozaki, suffered from heart and renal failure, eventually entering cardiopulmonary arrest. In Mr. Shiozaki's recovery, Ten-Chi Cha was recommended to him as an aid to reducing his blood pressure.
"I used to have a very high blood pressure. I started drinking Tehn-Chi-Cha as a part of a healthy diet. I believe that drinking Tehn-Chi Cha, help lower and maintain healthy blood pressure levels. I am extremely grateful for the tea," recounted Mr. Shiozaki.
Ten-Chi Cha is current sold in twenty five states in health food stores, super markets and Japanese restaurants. One tea bag makes six to seven cups of tea, served hot or cold, making it perfect to treat yourself or large enough to share.
