On July 10th the 185-year-old town newspaper Eagle Times published its last edition. And on July 15th the first edition of the online newspaper http://www.YourClaremontPress.com was published in its place.

Nancy Brown, who grew up in Claremont, saw a need for her hometown to have a local news source. She quickly stepped into the role of newspaper publisher.

Brown is adept at taking care of unfulfilled needs in communities. Her company YourMilitary.com provides relocation information in over 250 military communities across the country.

One of her newest projects is WoundedWarriorsSupport.org, and since November 2008 she and Phyllis Zimbler Miller, author of the novel MrsLieutenant.com, have been co-hosts of the BlogTalkRadio show YourMilitaryLife.com, which provides valuable information to military personnel and their families.

Brown states "This is the new media. You will be able to access the news in the local Claremont, NH and surrounding areas 24 hours a day on YourClaremontPress.com. Normal citizens have been contributing photos and news tips, along with events, obituaries, blogs and articles for publication. If there is breaking news we are able to post that information immediately. We are also connected to such social media websites such as Twitter and Facebook. The first day we were on Facebook our fan page secured over 100 fans."

Brown continues "As one gentleman told me, "We are all YourClaremontPress.com" and he is correct. We are giving credit to the YCP Viewers who provide news tips, pictures, stories and blogs. Our plan is to hire former reporters from the Eagle Times staff, and will be able to do so once the local businesses begin supporting and advertising on YourClaremontPress.com. The local businesses are the key to keeping the news alive in the Claremont area."
