Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) July 22, 2009
Modavox, Inc. today announced that award-winning author Hara Estroff Marano will appear on the new parenting talk show "Real Parents. Real Solutions." debuting Wednesday, July 29 at 1 p.m. Eastern on the VoiceAmerica Variety Channel.(http://www.voiceamericavariety.com).
Estroff Marano, editor-in-chief of Psychology Today, will discuss with host Toni Schutta how "invasive" parenting is creating a nation of wimps, increasing depression and other disorders among college students and "threatening the future of our democracy and economy."
"This show will be a great opportunity for parents to take stock of whether they are over- parenting by being too overprotective, too controlling or expecting perfection, which, according to Hara's research are all behaviors that can set children up for failure later," said Schutta, show host, parent coach and psychologist.
Parent and teacher Laurie Vinyon, will also join the July 29 show to share how she's countering the "over-parenting" trend with her three children.
"The intent of the show is to give parents practical solutions they can use immediately after the broadcast to solve parenting challenges they're facing," Schutta said. "Parenting experts and 'real parents' will share real-life solutions on every show."
Future guests include Best-Selling Author Adele Faber (Aug. 5) and Author and Parent Educator Elizabeth Crary (Aug. 12)
