Tomoye today announced new Open Source Licensing and Code Sharing Initiatives for government and military customers as part of its Tomoye Communities for SharePoint product. As part of this initiative, Tomoye will now release its Web UI source code within its licensing agreements. Tomoye is also re-writing its custom development contracts to optionally allow custom code developed by Tomoye and its customers to be freely used by participating Government agencies. Both of these initiatives lower the cost and increase the innovation potential in extending and customizing Tomoye Community Software for SharePoint.

Organizations running both our platform and SharePoint will have a new level of flexibility when it comes to customizing their applications to best suit their organizational needs. By using a crowdsourced approach to code sharing, all of our customers will have access to innovative and cutting edge ideas that will enable them to drive greater value from their communities.
