IntertechPira, working with closely Ciba Expert Services, is proud to announce the agenda for the 2nd annual "Chemical Notification/Food Contact World Summit," a two-day seminar bringing together U.S. and International legislative representatives, stakeholders in the chemical supply chain and experts who specialize in new chemical and food contact legislation and REACH. The conference will be held Monday, September 14, 2009 through Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at the Hotel Palomar Arlington in Arlington, VA.

Co-chaired by Joyce Borkhoff, Head of Regulatory Services Canada for Ciba Expert Services; Karen Levins, vice president Chemicals Group for Cantox Health Sciences; and Ralph Simmons, regulatory consultant for Ciba Expert Services, "Chemical Notification/Food Contact World Summit 2009" will provide attendees with a practical, real-world guide to submitting new chemical notifications according to international guidelines.

"This conference combines new chemical notifications and food contact notifications for a comprehensive and international tutorial," said Jessica Johnson, Senior Conference Producer for IntertechPira. "In addition to our impressive line-up of speakers and presenters, we expect more than 100 leading industry executives to attend and will offer ample networking opportunities."

Attendees will receive an update from Vivian Gilliam, consumer safety officer for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, on the Food Contact Notification Program, as well as hear from Greg Schweer, Chief of New Chemicals Notice Management Branch and Acting Chief of New Chemicals Pre-notice Management Branch Chemical Control Division at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, on the electronic reporting rule for Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) section 5. Other presenters include Ciba Expert Services, 3E Company, Cantox Health Sciences, Decernis, the China National Chemical Information Center, Environment Canada, Ashland Inc., BP Lubricants, and the National Industrial Chemicals Notification and Assessment Scheme (NICNAS).

Two pre-conference seminars entitled "CEPA New Substance Notifications 101" and "TSCA Pre-Manufacturing Notifications" will offer more in-depth exploration of chemical notifications.
