(http://www.blackwave.net) At a practically nude briefing held in the middle of Time Square on July 22 at 11 a.m., Naked Cowboy for New York City Mayor campaign was officially launched to help the internationally revered busker play a more political tune uptown at Gracie Mansion.
As a globally recognized one man brand who wears a hat, boots, briefs and a guitar as he plays his signature cowboy tunes to Time Square listeners, Naked Cowboy has won over audiences with his lyrical wails and lack of wardrobe. He has strummed guitar on MTV and talk shows. He toured the U.S. and the U.K. He even appeared in the Super Bowl XLI television spot for Chevrolet. And on July 22, he joined NYC's mayoral race.
"I am entering the race for the office of the Mayor of New York City. Why? Well, right now this city can't afford wasteful spending," Naked Cowboy announced to a large crowd at the corners of Times Square on Wednesday morning. "It's time to tighten the belt, but of course that's just a saying because I don't even wear a belt."
Blackwave Creative, a full-service online branding agency based in Parsippany, NJ, helped launch the web campaign with the "do more with less" slogan. It started with http://www.nakedcowboy.com, a one page Flash site that played "Hail to the Chief" and touted Wednesday's Time Square announcement with links to active social media channels, namely MySpace, Twitter and The Naked Cowboy fan page on Facebook.

Links to social media channels have been placed at the bottom of the first page, including a flickr photostream of Naked Cowboy sightings.
