Paramus, NJ (PRWEB) July 25, 2009
Real Housewives of New Jersey plastic surgeon, Dr. Robert Zubowski has seen an increase in plastic surgery procedures immediately following his appearance on the reality television show. A recent study by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons confirms the correlation between reality television and an increase in procedures.
The study of more than 2000 college women shows that viewership of cosmetic surgery on reality television creates a more favorable attitude towards this type of surgery and a decreased fear of the risks associated with it.
Dr. Zubowski says "these shows have increased the average American's knowledge of the many cosmetic upgrades. But the ultimate responsibility of helping patients understand both the possible risks and the rewards of cosmetic procedures needs to remain in the hands of plastic surgeons."
Dr. Zubowski, a Bergen County, New Jersey plastic surgeon, was recently featured on a segment of real Housewives of New Jersey when real houswife Theresa Guidice decided to enhance her breasts on national television. Dr. Zubowski said that since that segment aired, he has seen an increased interest in the type of procedure her performed on Theresa.
