The new website, http://www.biblesociety.org.uk, is designed to make is as simple as possible to find information about the Bible and Bible Society's work.
"We were seeing too many people coming to our site who could not find what they were after, even though we had it," explains Peter Meadows, Associate Executive Director of Bible Society, who has overseen the project." Now they no longer need to leave hungry. This will help people in and outside the church to discover the relevance of the Bible today."
The new site also makes it easy to search the Bible by keyword, chapter and verse; discover local, national and international events in which Bible Society is involved; and to make donations.
The two-year development process included many volunteers testing versions of the prototype site with a view to making it simple to use. This was overseen by WUP, a consultancy specialising in making web sites effective.
To mark the launch, Bible Society has begun an extensive email campaign to increase the number of visitors to the new site.
Bible Society have worked on this project with the Refreshed Media. Other clients of this award winning agency include Radio 1, Cunard and Peugeot.
About Bible Society:
Bible Society exists to make the Bible heard. We aim to show how the Bible connects with life. We make Scriptures available where there are none and we work with the Church to help it live out the Bible's message. We do this because Bible poverty is real and fighting it matters.
