The threat of violence and associated warning signs are something every company should not only be aware of, but should have their entire staff trained to recognise. Whether you think it will happen to you or not, being aware is the first step we can actively take in preventing tragedy.
Sydney, NSW (PRWEB) July 26, 2009
Growing recession woes have instigated worry in companies surrounding the potential threat of workplace violence. In response to this ProActive ReSolutions, a company that provides training and conflict resolution services to organisations, will host a two hour seminar dealing with the broader issue of managing problem behaviours, such as violence, stalking and bullying, in the workplace. The session is scheduled to take place on 20 August 2009 from 9:oo a.m. – 11:00 a.m at the Sydney Hilton Hotel, Sydney, Australia.
Dr. Stephen Hart, ProActive ReSolutions director and renowned violence expert, stresses that ”The threat of violence and associated warning signs are something every company should not only be aware of, but should have their entire staff trained to recognise. Whether you think it will happen to you or not, being aware is the first step we can actively take in preventing tragedy.”
ProActive ReSolutions provides workplace violence prevention training as well as comprehensive threat assessment services. Dr. Stephen Hart is a director at ProActive and a professor of forensic psychology at Simon Fraser University in British Columbia, Canada, and the University of Bergen in Norway. He has presented worldwide on the topic of violence and has co-developed benchmark setting tools in assessing the risk for violence.
Waiting until an incident occurs is NOT the right time to train staff and raise awareness. The intention of this session is to discuss the importance of developing internal, pre-emptive management systems and critical risk assessment procedures for responding to significant problem behaviour.
