Bloom Will Write for "The Innovators" Series, Focusing on Innovation and Leadership in Corporate America

Washington, DC attorney and business ethics expert Lauren Bloom announced today that she has been appointed a columnist by "The Street" (http://www.TheStreet.com), an award-winning website which covers financial markets, economic and industry trends, and investment and financial planning. Bloom, author of a leading business ethics blog, http://www.TheBusinessEthicsBlog.com, is joining experts Vince Crew, Brad Hall, and Bob Prosen, to write for a new series called "The Innovators." Bloom will discuss innovations in business ethics in corporate America.

Bloom's first article for TheStreet.com's new series focuses on the new MBA Oath that 400 Harvard Business School graduates took the day before they graduated, promising to "act with utmost integrity" in their management roles. (http://www.thestreet.com/story/10550121/1/mba-oath-could-make-a-difference.html) The MBA Oath has quickly gone viral, and has been signed by recent graduates of at least 25 business schools. "The graduates who signed on may find it difficult to fulfill all of the oath's requirements all of the time, but they should be commended for taking such a principled stance, especially when so many on Wall Street have seemingly done anything but. These students hope to turn management from a job to a profession - here's hoping they succeed," Bloom says.

Bloom's blog covers a wide variety of issues concerning business and professional ethics, as well as advice about how to correct ethical lapses and reduce the risk of lawsuits. Bloom says many ethical problems can be resolved quickly and effectively by simply making a sincere apology when a mistake has been made. Citing the need for guidance, Bloom authored the award-winning book, The Art of the Apology - How to Apologize Effectively to Practically Anyone, which offers advice on how to make effective apologies and preserve business and personal relationships.
