New Photo luminescent Eco Exit Signs from Martinson-Nicholls Use No Electricity, Viewable from 100 Feet

Martinson-Nicholls new Eco Exit Signs are now viewable from up to 100 feet, require no electricity, no maintenance, no battery backups and last 25 years. The photo luminescent signs meet all current building codes, and demonstrate that green technology can result in cost savings.

Cleveland, OH (PRWEB) July 27, 2009 -- The new Eco Photo luminescent Exit Signs absorb and store ambient light, and are viewable from up to 100 feet without using electricity. In the event of an emergency with a blackout or smoky conditions this stored energy is immediately visible, creating a clearly recognizable, photo luminescent egress indicator.

"Glo Brite Exit Signs absorb light and glow up to 12 hours, nine hours longer than signs illuminated with batteries," offers Dan Ruminski, president of Martinson-Nicholls, Inc.

The Department of Energy estimates that more than $50 billion is being wasted each year by the owners of 2.8 million U.S. commercial, industrial and institutional buildings that rely on outdated lighting systems. The electricity required to illuminate traditional exit signs is a significant part of this expense, and eliminated by using these zero-energy, eco-friendly luminescent signs.

Savings with Glo Brite Exit Signs continue as building owners may qualify for The Commercial Building Tax Deduction (CBTD) giving owners benefit of as much as 60 cents per square foot for qualifying lighting systems, according to National Lighting Chairmen Robert W. Coldan Jr. Many building owners are already switching to Glo Brite Photo luminescent Exit Signs not only for energy savings, but also for a safer alternative to signs using radioactive tritium technology.

A building with 100 traditional exit signs by switching to photo luminescent signs will save more than $3,500.00 a year in energy costs and reduce air pollution by almost a half million pounds of CO2 over the life of the signs. Wal-Mart is using the Eco Exit Signs and currently enjoys some of these savings.

The new Glo Brite Exit Signs include single sided or double-sided configurations with models for 50' and 100' viewing distance and multiple mounting options. They are UL 924 listed and non-toxic, eliminating the disposal issues of tritium signs.
