What: The 2009 American Psychological Association Convention offers clinicians a chance to personally preview three of Pearson's upgraded psychological assessments:
- MMPI-2-RFTM (Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory-2 Restructured Form™) - Published in 2008, the MMPI-2-RF aids clinicians in the diagnosis of mental disorders, identification of specific problem areas, and treatment planning in a variety of settings. Composed of 338 items, the MMPI-2-RF test is psychometrically up-to-date and is linked to current models of personality and psychopathology. Key features include a comprehensive technical manual, a nationally representative normative sample, and the availability of comparison samples. The test takes only 35-50 minutes to administer via paper, 25-35 minutes via computer.
- WAIS®-IV (Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale®, Fourth Edition) - Responding to the latest trend of increasing caseloads involving older clients, Pearson released the WAIS®-IV, the most widely used test of adult cognitive ability, in 2008. The latest version offers highly reliable clinical information along with enhanced utility, precision, and simplicity. The updated normative data is for ages 16-90 years of age, providing enhanced utility for older adults.
- WMS®-IV (Wechsler Memory Scale®, Fourth Edition) - Released in 2009, the WMS-IV offers significant enhancements to help clinicians evaluate memory capabilities as part of a standard adult psychological evaluation. Able to be used with adults aged 16-90 years old, the newest version is briefer, easier to administer and places an increased focus on older adults. Clinical psychologists also can use the WMS-IV as part of a psycho-educational evaluation of adolescent and adult students.
