Cambridge, MA (PRWEB) July 30, 2009
Unity Cambridge, Greater Boston's fastest-growing "New Thought" spiritual community has announced that the church has declared Sunday August 2, 2009 as a special Day of Unity and Healing calling on the interfaith community, Cambridge residents and the Greater Boston community to join them at their weekly celebration service at 11:00 A.M. preceded by a powerful meditation and prayer time at 10:30 A.M.
According to Carole Cornelison, Unity Cambridge's Steering Committee chairperson, "Unity Cambridge sees the recent incident surrounding the arrest of Dr. Gates as an opportunity to open a dialogue and promote healing and understanding across racial and cultural lines."
Through inspirational music, meditation and a special message delivered by the Rev. Adam Sutton: "Unity in the City: Beginning a New Dialogue", the Day of Unity and Healing is designed to celebrate Cambridge's diversity as well as foster greater tolerance and understanding. The church service will feature speakers from various faith communities as well as members of the Cambridge community and will provide attendees an opportunity to share their own positive prayers and hopes, moving us forward as a more unified spiritual community.
"Unity Cambridge is an inclusive, welcoming and diverse community whose congregants represent different ethnicities and backgrounds," says Unity Cambridge minister, Rev. Adam Sutton. "Regardless of our race or religion of origin, we all have a desire to be loved and respected for who and what we are. At Unity Cambridge we honor all people, from all paths, because we truly believe we are all children of the same loving God. We believe that we are stronger not just when we look beyond our differences, but when we can indeed truly celebrate them."
