Having a self contained campus allows for better continuity of care. We are able to respond to our patients needs immediately. Being in the same location allows for a closer working relationship with the patients. We are able to focus strictly on them and their recovery process.

Lifeskills of South Florida, a place where second chances become new beginnings, has recently built a 28 bed residential treatment facility for adults with addiction and mental health related issues in Deerfield Beach, Florida. The facility occupies 25,000 square feet and employs 35 people. From start to finish the facility was five years in the making. Lifeskills of South Florida is unique in that it does not follow the traditional “Florida model” of treatment. The all inclusive campus is comprised of clinical offices and seven Key West style townhouses located on the same property. Many Florida facilities offer a split campus between the clinical offices and residential accommodations. Michael Gillis, MSW, Executive Director for Lifeskills of South Florida explains, “Having a self contained campus allows for better continuity of care. We are able to respond to our patients needs immediately. Being in the same location allows for a closer working relationship with the patients. We are able to focus strictly on them and their recovery process.”
Lifeskills South Florida treats individuals with addiction, psychiatric and trauma-based disorders. Our patients may need Life Skills for border personality disorder, PTSD, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, chemical addiction, depression and obsessive compulsive disorders. In addition, Lifeskills specializes in treating individuals with severe personality disorders. Many patients come to Lifeskills from nationally recognized inpatient treatment centers and hospitals for extended care. Cesar Benarroche, MD, Medical Director for Lifeskills of South Florida declares that “leaders in the addiction and mental health field refer patients to us because we have an excellent reputation for working with clinically complex patients and having positive clinical outcomes”. Lifeskills offers Residential, Transitional and Outpatient levels of care. The average length of stay from Residential through Outpatient is between two and six months.
