Bourne, MA (PRWEB) July 30, 2009
The Waldorf School of Cape Cod, located near the Bourne Rotary at 85 Cotuit Road, is now accepting registrations for its popular parent-child classes.
The classes are similar to playgroups. An adult and child attend the class together one morning a week from 9-11am. Three sessions are offered (fall, winter, and spring), and two age groups are served: 18 months to 3.5 years and 3 to 6 years. Class size is limited to 8 children to ensure a quality experience for all.
While children play with each other and have access to open-ended toys that foster imagination, parents are safely nearby participating in seasonal craft projects or engaging in topic-based discussion about issues of interest to parents raising children.
The class as a whole partakes in circle activities (such as songs, rhymes, and finger plays), listens to a story (often told using table puppets), prepares and shares a snack, and spends some time playing outdoors.
Classes are held in a warm and inviting space in the school's historic Coady School building. The school is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year and draws parent-child participants from Wellfleet to Rhode Island!
Prospective parent-child participants--as well as families interested in looking at the school for their older children--are invited to attend the school's upcoming Open House on Sunday, August 9, from 1-3pm, to meet teachers and explore the unique environment of the parent-child classroom.
Further information about the school as well as parent-child registration forms are available by calling the school's Enrollment Director, Meredith Hunnibell, at 508-759-7499 or by visiting the school's comprehensive web site at http://www.waldorfschoolofcapecod.org.
