GiveFreedomBack is launching a new mission. The 'Adopt a Family' program is a new effort being promoted by the nonprofit organization in attempt to help wounded soldiers and their families get the support that they need to be successful in healing and getting back on their feet.
Greg Forquer, President of GiveFreedomBack, explains the program. "The 'Adopt a Family' program is something that we are very excited about. What we want to do is provide for this county's wounded warriors and their families an environment where they can focus on getting better, both in the way of healing, as well as financially. How we are going to accomplish this is one family at a time. We are looking for individual families, churches, businesses - anyone that wants to make a difference in the lives of these military families by helping to provide shelter, food, clothing, transportation, medical attention, or any of the other needs that they may have.
Publications and broadcast programs are filled with stories of wounded soldiers having to wait 6-12 months just to start receiving their disability pay. Many are ending up in homeless shelters, desperately trying to survive until all of the bureaucratic red tape is done. They can't just relax and focus on healing, because they have to figure out how to get their family through these hard times. It's a shame."
Greg's family is currently seeking a military family to 'adopt' as well.
GiveFreedomBack is offering support, resources, and leadership to those that are interested in helping support a military family. Whether someone wants to adopt a family, or just wants to provide resources, GiveFreedomBack is ready assist.
